SEALING AND BONDINGStructural components industry
When it comes to the industrial manufacture of structural components, the structural component and structural component supplier industry started using the bonding technology when it was still in its infancy. Wherever adhesives and sealants by OTTO are used in the field of construction and industry, you know you can rely on the bond. Quality from the OTTO brand – that's what makes the difference.
Silicone, PU and STP
1-component and 2-component polyurethane adhesives are available in the field of sandwich elements and composite boars, such as acoustic insulating elements, and the bonding of corner angles of metal windows. They can be adapted precisely in line with the customer’s requirements.
The bonding of shower cubicle elements can already look back on a long tradition. Whereas, in the past, standard RTV-1 silicone was generally used, 2-compound silicones, 1-component and 2-compound STP adhesives (Silane-terminated Polyurethane) and even PU hotmelt adhesives are used.
The bonding of partition elements for the field of interior finishing work is a classic application for 2-component silicones. The bonding enables the realisation of consistent, smooth glazed surfaces similar to the SSG facades (Structural Sealant Glazing) in the interior, too. In addition to the classic colours of white, grey and black, the elastic 2-component silicone adhesive / sealant can be made in practically any colour upon request. This means that there is no need for time-consuming, expensive edge printing.
Formwork
The bonding of elements in the field of formwork is similar to the bonding of partition elements. Due to the higher mechanical requirements made on the formwork panels, 2-component STP adhesives or even 2-component PU adhesives are generally used, since they are able to withstand higher mechanical stresses. Formwork elements made from wood or plastic can be bonded to the metal frames.
